Mct Oil Benefits And Weight Loss

What Is MCT Oil About – MCT Oil Information!

So what is MCT oil about? MCT is one of those supplements that I use every day. It has so many benefits which I will tell you about in this post.

I have used the oil for about three years now, but I have recently started using it in powder form because I then can tolerate more of it.
What brand I will recommend and why will be covered in another post.

MCT Oil Information – What It Is

MCT oil stands for medium-chain triglycerides and it differs from coconut oil as it has taken some of the most potent components of coconut oil and isolated them so that you can get a really strong advantage of the benefits that MCTs have to offer you.

When we look at coconut oil, it consists mostly of long chain fatty acids and only about 15% medium-chain fatty acids, and when we look at these middle chain fatty acids, they provide so many health benefits – we’ll go ahead and discuss them right now.

MCT Oil Benefits And Weight Loss

MCTs are powerful for weight loss for many reasons. People who use MCTs during the day tend to consume much fewer calories.

The other thing is that it will actually increase hormones like leptin, which tells your stomach that it is full, so it will also help you consume a few fewer calories.
It also supports weight loss because it is used as a fast energy source: The MCTs are broken down into the liver in ketones and then they can be used as energy.

MCTs keep you in a fat burning state for a long time, so basically if someone is on a ketogenic diet, this can help you stay in a fat burning state for longer.

Brain Function

The MCTs will also improve brain function.

The ketones coming from the MCTs can cross the blood-brain barrier, which means that they can get to the brain very quickly, so you’re ready to use them as a fast source of energy.

It also travels quickly in the body, and when using these MTCs, they do not need to be broken down in the gut, they can be quickly absorbed by the intestine, go to the liver and converted to ketones as a fast source of energy.

People like to take MCT oil throughout the day, when their brain begins to slow down, to give it a quick pick up.

Another thing is how it improves your brain functions. The ketones can go directly to the cells, and that means that the MCTs are quickly broken down and used quickly as an energy source for your brain and nervous system.

Cardiovascular Health

When looking at the next major benefit of MCTs, is that they help improve cardiovascular health. Ketones are very powerful to improve cardiovascular health because they reduce inflammation.

People often suffer from cardiovascular conditions simply because their inflammatory markers are typically out of the charts.

So it will reduce inflammation as the factors for c-reactive protein, LPA. It will also lower bad cholesterol as your LDL and increase good cholesterol as your HDLs. It is very powerful for cardiovascular health and it should not be overlooked.

Neurological Health

It will really benefit you by improving your overall neurological health, especially if you suffer from a neurological condition.

If you have Alzheimer’s or epilepsy or other neurological disorder, a high level of ketones will result in much fewer seizures.

Anti-Fungal And Anti-Bad Bacterial.

The next one is, that the ketones will act as anti-fungal and antibacterial.

This is powerful because it helps you to reduce candida in the stomach and candida throughout the whole body.

It will also help to reduce fungus and balance the overall microbiota of the intestine. In our stomach, there is this great bacterial balance game. We have bad bacterias and good bacterias and basically, MCT oil will help keep some of the bad bacterias in check and create a total balance.

Different Ways To Consume It

When we look at MCT oil, there are many different ways to consume it. One of my favorites is that you mix it up with some coffee and organic butter.

It is great to drink it that way, and when you put it in your coffee, it is very important that you mix it properly in a mixer or similar, otherwise it becomes a very greasy coffee, so make sure you mix it because it makes it taste much better.

The other thing you can do is just dumping it in a spoon and consume it that way; It’s an excellent way because it’s tasteless and it’s easy to swallow.

Many people will once again put a bit of it in a coffee in the middle of the day to lift their brain.

Cooking And Finishing Oil.

The last thing you can do is using it as a finished oil.

It’s great to put on salads and it’s great to put on meat and different things. Another thing is that you can cook with it. It has a very high smoke point like coconut oil, and therefore the MCT oil is also excellent for cooking.

Like with many other supplements, buy one that is recommended or have a high rating among the crowd.

  1. Great post and good info.

I like the fact it is good for the brain function, I always used fish oil but with the thing of the climate, I’m starting to look for alternatives.

Now, how much do you need to take to have an effect on your brain, but you don’t lose weight?

Because I’m not going to take it to lose weight.

Thanks a lot for sharing it!

  2. Hi, weight loss and good health are a priority for me hence my interest in this article. This is the first time I am hearing about MCT. It is interesting to note that I am a coconut oil big time consumer and swear by its value. MCT appeals to me because of its value to brain, heart and the body in general, but I would be particularly interested in its weight loss benefits, and it seems so easy to add to daily meals and snacks. Thanks for this information

  3. Hey!

This post was full of new information for me!

I have used MCT oil but I haven’t even known how much benefits you can have while using it! I started to use it though my boyfriends recommendation and I love it. I think it has affected to my brain function!

I have used MCT oil in my morning coffee and like you said, it is really important to mix it well!

You said you have used it for three years now. Can I ask you, are you using it every day? 🙂

    1. Hey Mira, yes I use it in my coffee about 15 ml. MCT and 20 g of organic butter, in the blender. then I don’t feel hungry for the next 4-5 hour every day. Except when I do eat breakfast ones or twice a week.

      Have a nice day.

  4. Thanks a lot for your very informative article. To tell you the truth, I had never heard of MCT oils before today but it is good that it helps with feeling full and weight loss. I am very familiar with coconuts and coconut oil so I presume the MCT oils should be safe. However, since they are refined, is there a maximum quantity one should use daily? Thanks again for the information.

    1. Hi, Yes my limit is about 20 ml a day, I take about 15 ml a day.
If you take to much, then you will have to go to the…. toilet.-)

      Have a wonderful day.

  5. I once came across MCT when I was running a food project for a company, I didn’t research about it, because it was not my field of operation and I wasn’t asked to do that, so I didn’t go into it.. Coming across this article, I have learnt that it helps in reducing weight loss. But I couldn’t find where it talk about it’s side effects.. Things concerning health issues like this, we should also consider it side effects..

  6. I was previously unaware of the benefits of MCT oil, so this is very useful. I am particularly interested in the benefits to brain function and cardiosvascular health. Are there any side effects I should be aware of?

Also, you mentioned that you now take it in powder form. What is the best brand? And, if using the oil, is KetoLogic available in the UK?

    1. Hi David, It is hard to point one out, I usually go for a midrange price and the best offers with the best rating on Amazon. And then I buy 10 🙂  But I will be doing an honest review of MCT in the future. check the link in the post to find the best offer.

      Have a good day.

  7. I have never heard of MCT oil but I have been looking for a healthier oil to cook with than olive oil. I also read recently that coconut oil isn’t so healthy due to the fat that it has in it. Is MCT oil healthier than coconut? Have you ever used it in baking? Does it change the flavour of the cake?

    1. Hi, Hollie. Despite popular belief among doctors and the public, the conceptual model of dietary saturated fat clogging a pipe is just plain wrong.

The thing is that saturated fat has got its bad reputation because in the early days it was grouped together with trans fatty acids.

If you remove the trans fats from the equation, you can no longer get the same picture of saturated fat as dangerous or as risk-giving to cardiovascular diseases. Instead, it is said that saturated fat is neutral to the heart. If you dig a little deeper into this topic you will find that coconut oil isn’t unhealthy at all.  https://bjsm.bmj.com/content/5

  8. Very informative post. I like  way the supplement can be put it into whatever you like

  9. Great Article! I have been looking for some oil very suitable, but I couldn’t really think of anything that could match my needs. I wanted something more healthy, and this is also a good thing as it is healthy and contributes to weigh loss. Also you talked about brain function and cardiovascular health. I was using the coconut oil a lot but I didn’t realize that it is not as good as I thought, I got to be careful then. I will definitely try it with salads as I like salads so much. Now what kind of coffee is it preferable to use it, or is it good with any mark of coffee?

  10. The benefits of MCT oil are well established, and your article certainly answers many of the questions that people have about the benefits. Many of the benefits mentioned were not known to me, such as the effects of the oil on the brain.Everyone should be interested in their neurological health. So many people are suffering from the many forms of mental breakdown and the growth of conditions such as Alzheimer’s. If MCT only helps a little, it would be worth using it.I had purchased MCT oil but never started using it. It is always hard to get started on a new regimen, but with the information provided, I am going to get started.

  11. Hi,

I am honestly telling that I would not know about MCT Oil if I did not ready your article. After reading your great review about this product, I understood that this is very useful Oil which we can use as an alternative of our cooking oil. I think there is no side effect issue for using it with every meal. I am going to share this with my friends and family members and I believe they will be happy after reading this article. Thanks for sharing this awesome review.
